As part of the project activities, Greek students in Λήμνος and Δράμα were informed about the Green Tourism Development programme. On Tuesday, 17 February, 22 students from the Vocational Upper Secondary School (EPAL) of Myrina participated in the activity entitled “Let’s Protect the Environment”. Furthermore, on Wednesday, 18 February, 67 students aged 17–18 from the 2nd Vocational Upper Secondary School of Drama took part in the same awareness-raising action.

The aim of the initiative was to inform and raise awareness among young people about key European policies, such as the European Green Deal, in line with the EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027.

The programme and activities of “Engaging Youth in Digital Green Future” were presented, along with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. In addition, discussions and interactive activities were held in connection with the Conference on the Future of Europe.

The purpose of the intervention was to promote the active participation of young people, particularly with regard to climate change, citizen engagement in decision-making processes, and involvement in local initiatives.

Through empowerment and the provision of support, young people were encouraged to develop local actions that contribute meaningfully to the green and digital transition that Europe is called upon to implement.
