Huelva, Spain – April 2026

The Youth Training activity of the Erasmus+ project Engaging Youth in a Digital Green Future 2.0 (EY-DGF 2.0) was successfully held from 7 to 11 April 2026 at the facilities of Inercia Digital in Huelva, Spain. The five-day international training brought together young participants aged 18 to 29 from Spain, Greece, Serbia, Lithuania, and Slovenia, fostering intercultural exchange and collaborative learning.

The training aimed to strengthen participants’ digital competences, particularly in the use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, while promoting environmental awareness and active participation in sustainability initiatives. The programme directly addressed key European priorities, including the European Green Deal and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, empowering young people to understand and contribute to ongoing green and digital transitions.

Throughout the week, participants engaged in a dynamic and interactive programme combining non-formal and informal learning methodologies. Activities included workshops on digital literacy and AI, sessions on environmental advocacy and communication, and collaborative group work focused on real-world challenges.

A central component of the training was the “AI for Green & Sustainable Future Challenge”, where participants worked in international teams to design innovative, AI-supported solutions addressing environmental and social issues aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The challenge encouraged creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving, resulting in a series of impactful project ideas.

In addition, participants took part in a field visit to a local initiative in Huelva called EONSEA (experts in providing AI and digital solutions to environmental issues), gaining first-hand insight into practical applications of sustainability and community-based environmental action. These experiences provided valuable inspiration and helped bridge the gap between theory and practice.

The final day of the training focused on policy engagement and future action, highlighting the role of young people in shaping European policies and contributing to sustainability efforts at local and international levels. Participants presented their project ideas and developed action plans to continue their engagement after the training.

As a key outcome of the activity, participants will now act as multipliers and ambassadors of the project, organising local events such as Green Awareness Days to share their knowledge and reach wider audiences within their communities.

The Youth Training in Huelva represents a significant milestone within the EY-DGF 2.0 project, contributing to the development of a new generation of young people equipped with the skills, knowledge, and motivation to actively participate in building a more sustainable and digitally empowered future.
